Our Licence

The Australian Financial Services market place is going through significant change.

The Federal Government has been concerned for some time by some practices and behaviour, and has moved to make sure that products and services are delivered more consistently and with greater disclosure, to ensure increased protection for consumers.

Legislation came into effect on the 11th of March 2003 that required all new and existing Financial Services companies to demonstrate acceptable levels of resources, systems and competencies.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) offered a one-year transition period, until 11th March 2004, during which companies could provide evidence of having achieved the required levels. If successful when applying, an Australian Financial Services Licence would then be issued by ASIC and the company would be allowed to operate.

We are pleased to advise that the application by Indemnity Corporation Pty Ltd for an AFS Licence was granted on 15 September 2003, 6 months earlier than required. Our Licence Number is 234578 and it became effective on the 1st of November 2003.
